In the summer of 2025, I began doing contract work for Wrestling For a Cause (WFC), a Tulsa-area based professional wrestling organization, to provide t-shirts, fliers, and other design work to help promote their wrestlers and events. Founded by Tim Johnson in 2011, WFC is more than just a wrestling promotion; it’s a movement dedicated to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
WFC started with a single event in Owasso, Oklahoma, for a courageous four-year-old boy named Ryder, who was battling Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. His fight inspired Mr. Johnson to create something bigger: a platform where professional wrestling isn’t just entertainment, it’s a force for good. Since then, WFC has hosted over 130 events across Oklahoma and beyond, raising more than $170,000 to assist families facing the overwhelming financial strain of medical expenses, travel, and lost wages.
What sets WFC apart is their unwavering commitment to the families they help. 100% of event proceeds—ticket sales, concessions, auctions, and a portion of merchandise revenue go directly to families in need. Their world-class talent—wrestlers and crew, all volunteer their time, delivering electrifying performances that captivate fans while serving a higher purpose.
WFC owner and founder Tim Johnson pulls double-duty, wrestling for the company under the name Tim Rockwell. Wrestling as a bad guy (or heel), Tim’s character presents himself as both custodian and gatekeeper of Oklahoma’s professional wrestling scene: after 22 years in the business, Tim Rockwell is the one true “constant” in an ever-changing landscape of heroes and villains.
The following designs were created to reflect Tim Rockwell’s larger-than-life persona. Whether you’re an experienced veteran or a young up-and-comer looking to earn your place on the Oklahoma wrestling scene, all roads eventually run through “The Constant” Tim Rockwell.

On July 12th, 2025, WFC held their fourth annual ExtravaSLAMza event, the companies biggest show of the year. As a part of my contract work with WFC, I was tasked with designing both a limited edition t-shirt and a flier to promote the event.
For these designs, I looked to classic sports t-shirts and boxing fliers for inspiration. I placed extra emphasis on the “gaspipe” lettering design style. Commonly seen in the 1930’s-50’s, gaspipe lettering utilizes sharp, blocky typography assembled using a modular grid. The simple, two-tone color scheme (white on black) helps to further emphasize the vintage feel of these t-shirts and fliers.
The event flier for ExtravaSLAMza 4 in particular was a lot of fun. For inspiration, I studied a lot of sports event fliers and posters from the 70’s and 80’s: not just wrestling fliers, but also boxing, baseball, football, hockey, and basketball. To replicate the handmade feel of this fliers, I used the Zuume Edge Bold typeface for the headline and Helvetica Neue LT Pro for a majority of the body copy.
On October 4th, 2025, WFC will hold their 14th Anniversary event at the Property Event Center in Broken Arrow, OK. The main event of this show will feature "The Constant" Tim Rockwell vs. his former friend, "The Showcase" Alex Royal, in a steel cage match for the WFC Heavyweight Championship. As an added stipulation, the loser of this match will be forced to retire from active in-ring competition.
A match this big deserves a shirt to match the occasion. Tim commissioned me to create a special-edition t-shirt to commemorate the event. Offered in a black and white variants, these t-shirts will be printed in limited runs and will only be sold at the Property Event Center on the day of the 14th Anniversary event.
